“We are clearly at a moment and in an era when the old kind of politics don’t make sense anymore. There has never been a greater betrayal by a president of the United States or his office and oath. Donald Trump has ushered into our politics an era of violence and threat, and it involves violence and bullying and threatening. Any Republican official who is enabling Trump to take these actions should be held accountable.

That’s why it’s incumbent on all of us, at a local and state level, to make sure the truth is getting out. Get involved, voting is the only power of the American people. The people involved in administering elections at the state and county level need to understand there will be lies told about what happens. They need redundant systems in place to count votes and have teams ready to go to court ready to challenge the false claims. It is essential for Democrats and Republicans to work together to ensure fair elections and the survival of democracy. The vast majority of people in this country are good and honorable. We need to set aside party affiliation for just a moment and decide what kind of a country we want.”
